Easter

During Easter it seems that all of New Zealand was blessed with beautiful weather. This suited our Easter soiree just fine as we stayed in a hut in the middle of the bush. Our accommodation was very, very basic but it was exactly what we needed. Let tell me you that sharing bunk beds with 7 guys is just like a big girly sleep-over, no matter what they say. Once one starts giggling all the others join in. The same can be said for farting. The amount of fart jokes and toilet humour I heard over the weekend is enough to last me all year.

Here are some of the classic shots of this glorious long weekend.

The hut knacks all over the place

We found a secret cove which was hands down the most magnificent place I have visited in such a long time. Tom and I watched a documentary about this place about 10 days ago, so it was really cool walking through and knowing some of the politics and history behind the place.

We had marshmallows by the roaring fire (Stonehedge). This is the gang, minus RC who was taking some time out from all the commotion....

The ones that danced until the wee hours of the morn

The two lay-dees

And last but definitely-definitely, not least, Tom with the two goats he took from nature and brought back to base. He trekked the bush all by himself and returned with food! Oozing manliness.... I wish I could remember Hugh's super witty comment about the whole situation. Anyway, I think the sweat, mud and facial expressions say it all!

There's tons more. Like me pulling faces at Hugh on the beach, Nick AND tom getting stuck in the mud (and Muller, but I did not photograph that), me catching the only fish of the whole weekend (sorry Sull and Ric for stealing your thunder) and just general debauchery.

Until next time,

Claudia Valentina
