Music

I've been busy working on a new project at work, leaving little room to play. Working late in an empty office isn't the most fun, so like every other person who works late in an empty office, I fill it up with some music.

I'm by no means a music connoisseur but one of my favorite things is either finding the original of a song or finding a great cover. You've probably all heard these before, but in case you haven't here are some of my current favorites.

Not sure if people are aware that the new Rihanna and Drake is actually a cover. Et voila the original Take Care song by Gil Scott Heron and Jamie XX.... far, far better than Riri's cover (she be my homegirl but Gil's voice is irreplaceable).

Below is James Blake covering the incredible Joni Mitchell. James does it more than justice, his voice is hauntingly beautiful.

Below is Passion Pit covering The Cranberry's great, great song Dreams. The original is so good this one had big shoes to fill, still, the PP are so fun.

I'm a bit of a sucker for female vocalists and end up unintentionally being drawn to them. Liane La Havas is my new discovery (is she new? not sure, she's definitely new to me). She's a bit Amy Winehouse. I'm digging it.

And an oldie, but a goodie... if you like Spanish songs, Bebe has the sickest voice.

After a long week filling my brain with information, solving logic problems and doing puzzles, tomorrow's after work drink is going to be throughly enjoyable. Nearly TGIF! As I'm sure we are all needing a few words of encouragement to get us through....

Un bacione,

Claudia Valentina.
